| What determines the grading of silk? |
The grading of silk fibers is determined by its purity,
length and whiteness. 100% pure white and long strand fibers are
considered the highest grade.
Most silk comforters mix cotton with short silk fibers. They are called
silk-cotton-comforters. In order to keep the cotton and the short strand
silk in place, those comforters must be fixed by sawing patterns by
computerized machine to prevent the filling shift from one side to
another. Nowadays, most silk-filled comforters in the market are filled
with short strand silk fiber, although they are 100% filled with genuine
silk, but they also required sawing pattern in order to keep the filling
in place. Otherwise, after a short period of using, the filling inside
will be messed up.
TBBUSA uses the highest quality of 100% pure, snow white long strand
silk fibers in our comforters. The silk fibers are pulled by hand into
flat sheets and layered one upon another. There is no need to use
computerized sawing pattern on our comforters. All we need is only
several stitches to hold the silk inside the comforter. Our filling will
